This is actually posted on May 7, but since I'll be detailing my vacation, I decided to click the very nice date selector at the bottom of blogger and chose the correct dates for the right entries. Also, I was going to post loads of pix, but I realize that it might be too much and my page would take forever to load due to the many pix. So I'll just post a few. Anyway, here we go:

S'pore Day 3

These are the dolphins we say in Sentosa Island. They're called pink dolphins due to their underbellies, which are really pink. Very cute. I'm such a sucker for marine mammals.

Also, in Sentosa, this amused me. In our country, there's an island called Palawan. In Sentosa Island, Singapore, there's...

Anyway, on this day, May 5, I checked out in the morning via phone. Took another 2pm city tour, then went on the 630pm night safari tour. That's another highlight of Singapore. The two most tourist-y spots is Sentosa and Night Safari. And I was really looking forward to the Night Safari.

I took the city tour because mostly, it was something to do while waiting for the safari. But I was also interested in finding more about S'pore, so I chose that tour. It was very interesting and nice. Still had residual fear over Indian guys but it was slowly going away.

While waiting for 2pm to hit, I went to Suntec City which was also another popular place. It's walking distance from my mom's hotel but I had to walk a bit around coz there were renovation sites around and, apparently, in S'pore, one does not just walk wherever one pleases. And neither does one cross wherever one wants to.

Anyway, while there, I saw again Starbucks (this time with Vanilla Frappuccino) but I didn't buy any coz it was waaaay expensive. I did give in to temptation though and buy chocolates. Snack size KitKat Chunky in a 10-piece pack and a unique KitKat flavor that I've never seen before:

I ate it once I went back to the hotel. It was yummy and smells so good (cappuccino smells very aromatic). I ate half of it when I saw the back and it cracked me up:

Aren't chocolates considered junkfood? So what's a saying like that doing on the back of (hidden under the flap) a food considered not really healthy?

Anyway. Back to the tour, it rained right before the tour started and until the end. Which kinda wrecked my enjoyment of it and forced me to buy a S$10 umbrella from the driver of our bus.
We went to the Chinese Temple and, as usual, there were the lion things outside. Before going down the bus, the tour guide asked us where to find out where the male and female are. I knew the male has the ball and the female has the baby, but I didn't know where they were always located. Then she said, "remember that women are always right."

After, we went around a bit and then ended up in a gem factory.

Isn't that beautiful? All of it is made from semi-precious gems.

And just goes to show I was still freaky about guys following me. There was a salesman who, well, followed me around a bit, making small talk too. He was a salesman, right, so I'm sure he's a safe guy. Still, I was kind of wary. He gave me a calling card before I left, welcoming me to call them if ever I return to S'pore or something. He told me twice, though, that the number on it was a direct line. To him. I do not know what that means nor do I care to figure it out. Nor will I assume anything since I'm sure it's just a sales talk thing.

Beside the S'pore river is this thing called a G-max:

And I soooo want to ride on it! Even if it costs S$30. You get into this capsule and go on a bungee thing. It's great. My mom said that I can go on the ride with her, but she has no time. That's okay, though, it's S'pore, not the States. I'm sure at some point in the future, I can go back.

Now on to the Night Safari. It was GREAT!!!! As in! It was exactly how I imagined a safari would look. Kinda freaky though, coz you ride a tram that's totally open. Our tourguide cautiouned that we were not allowed to use flash photography or even the spotlight on videocameras. If the animal went near us, we weren't allowed to touch them. He said that if the animal stares at us, we should stare right back... and we can figure out who can stare the longest...

And this eatery cracked me up for no reason at all. I just... I just found it hysterical for some weird reason:

Nice Singapore blog, it makes me wana go see it too someday. looks like the tour is worth paying for huh? The night safari seems exciting, wish you had pictures, but might be dark coz you couldn't use flash. I feel bad for you that you tend to be afraid of Indians now. You know, in Amazing Race, the ladies there tend to be harassed in India, especially inside the trains. I noticed for 3 seasons now they always have a leg in India, and it's very challenging for contestants. In two seasons the women got harassed/touched inappropriately even if they had a cameraman with them during the race. In other countries, the contestants were not harassed- at least on camera they weren't.
