Twisted Me

Got my book signed, sealed, delivered. Haven't finished reading it though because when I arrived home last night, I was pooped and today, I was semi-busy (events of which will take up the next part of my blog).

If I can disown DLSU-HSC, I would. Out of all the La Salle schools in the world, it has got to be the most annoying one. I don't like it. I don't like the way it's run. I had to go to school and it was almost like a ghost town because all the profs were in the graduation. Anyway, PE wasn't so bad. 20/20 vision still, BP normal, height is a don't-even-ask info, weight is bad news, over-all healthy. Then the hell began... CBC was apparently a morning-only thing. But when I saw the list posted in the Acad building, the schedule was for 2-5pm. It was only today when I saw the list on the bulletin board outside the Anatomy Dept that it was written that the schedule was for 8-12am AND 2-5pm. And I wanted to have everything finished off today. And I do not want to return! I don't want to return for something that'll only take 5 minutes and a few cc's of my internal fluids. Helloooo?!! It's not worth driving 30kms. Sayang gas. Ang mahal mahal pa man din ng gas ngayon. Hay naku. It's very annoying. What the people there expect? That students check bulletin boards everyday?!! Hello!! Vacation?!! V-a-c-a-t-i-o-n, ever heard of it?!! Ugh.

Then came the chest x-ray and don't even get me started on that! Ugh. More than one hour wait?!! Get over it. Everyone was getting pissy in the waiting area (which had no signal!).

Then I went off for my immunization. DPT and MMR. You go to the 8th floor of the hospital, get a request for MMR, go back to the ground floor to pay for it to the cashier, then head back up to the 8th floor for the shot itself. DPT is to be payed in the Adult Immunization Center on the 8th floor. Tapos, ubos na daw yung Micropore tape nila. ARGH!!! They're an injection facility! They should have boxes of the stuff just lying around! ARGH!! Of course, normally, I'd say no to micropore coz I'm allergic to it (if placed against my skin for long periods of time) but, hello?! I've got 2 immunizations, that means on 2 arms (coz it's just stupid to get two shots on one arm - especially if one of them [DPT] is especially painful coz the medicine is malapot), so how am I supposed to hold on to the cottonbuds? First DPT then MMR. Fine, not so bad. I'm one of those really weird people who actually enjoy getting pricked by needles.

Anyway, the woman there said I could take off the DPT one so I did, but then it was still bleeding so she had to give me another cotton. After a second or two, I threw the MMR and used that arm to press on the DPT shot and went out to hail the elevator. Waddya know? MMR shot was still bleeding. Had to go back and ask for another cotton. She finally took pity on me and gave me magic tape to stick the cotton on my arm.

Originally, I was going to get all those (xray, cbc, dpt, mmr... that's a lot of acronyms, isn't it?) done in Makati Med coz I'm covered there by my mom's medical insurance but when I found out that the immunization is cheaper in UMC (University Medical Center, the hospital adjoining my school), I decided to take it there. When I asked the school clinic if I could have my xray and cbc taken in another hospital, I was informed that it wasn't allowed. It had to be done in UMC. Which made me wonder... what if someone already had an xray just a few months ago (the minimum interval is, I think, 6 months)? Does that mean that they'd have to have another one just for the school requirements?

Anyway, have to go back after a month for my second MMR shot.

Pope Benedict XVI is safely voted into Papal Office... and I realized that there have only been three instances in my life where I have actually watched CNN (and, sometimes, BBC and Fox)practically non-stop. And they are: Princess Diana's death, 9/11, and the Vatican post-JPII. In between all those, I get snippets of other things happening around the world. Is it just me or should we worry about the Japan-China incidences now? It's just so scary that they're off pissing each other off. These are the two major Asian cities, cities that are actually strong military-wise. Plus, for some reason, I've always seen those two as having, well, huge country pride. I can't help feeling that, if this goes on a little bit more, war will erupt between those two. Which'll drag USA into it, probably... which would drag us into it. And then, this morning, I've heard of "instability" in Jerusalem. Something to do with Palestinians. Or was it the other way around? Palestine having problems with Jews? I dunno. Something like that.

I didn't used to want watching news because, for me, it's filled with bad news. And I think I'm one of those few weird ones who believe that Armageddon is just around the corner. I can't help feeling that tensions the world over is backing up my hypothesis. On one hand, I'm making like Silk (a character by David Eddings) who says that this time is an exciting time to be alive because things are happening. And yet, at the same time, I'm feeling like Garion (another character by David Eddings) in saying that I wish it didn't have to happen in my time.

Whatever will be, will be, I guess. Whatever will happen, will happen. And whatever I say or do won't change that. I just hope that my life, however I end up living it, will be a good thing in a messed up world.

I'm so glad finger and hand muscles and nerves are located in the forearm. Every time I move my biceps, it hurts (due to DPT). If muscles for the fingers and hands reached until my arm, I probably wouldn't be able to type now.
