Girl Talk

Girl Talk is a series by L.E. Blair which I got into during my young adult phase. Alongside Sweet Valley, Babysitters Club and all that. It's a story about four 13-year-old friends named Sabrina Wells (red-head, friendly, popular, youngest girl out of five siblings), Katie Campbell (blond, preppie girl who surprised everyone when she joined the boys' ice hockey team, has an older "perfect" sister), Allison Cloud (100% Native American, 5'7" and growing, beautiful, smart, kinda shy, has a younger brother), and Randy Zak (New Yorker and all that signifies, single child, divorced parents, drummer).

Each book is quite thin and colored pink. Only about 100+ pages and with big prints; I can finish one in 30 minutes. I've missed the stories. Even though they're kind of shallow or whatever, sometimes I think they had more substance than what can be read in the Sweet Valley Twins series. Their friendship was very pure, yknow? How they're all so different and yet they support each other to the end and they're always there for each other even if, sometimes, they don't understand that's wrong. It's just... great. I think we need more books like that, those that send out positive images to teenage girls the world over. Their world didn't revolve around boys (huge variations with Sabs being utterly boy-crazy with a different crush every week and Randy who's totally not into the dating scene nor does she have crushes). They were just so normal, yknow? It's fun. It was also nice to go back to a time and place where it was the total highlight of your day when your crush kissed you. And by 'kiss' it means 'on the cheek'. Now, life is more complicated.

I want to collect them again, even though they're so blasted hard to find. I searched on-line and there are only 40 books out. Amazon.com sells used books for $0.01 which is really great, right? But the problem is, they don't give out the plots and that's what I'm after. I don't want to get all, I just want to get those that would interest me (mostly Katie and Allison's love lives and some of Randy's adventures - I like her coz she's kind of like me).

I just got my Globe bill today and with it is a pamphlet for one of their new products/services of which Bianca Gonzalez is their model. Imagine that. I knew her when LOL it's kinda weird to think that her face will be sent off to millions of houses in the Philippines. Not to mention that her face is on TV, her face is also on posters and billboards. Kinda weird na kinda cool.

The latest chapter (chap 2) of my latest story Heaven Sent on fanfiction.com isn't getting as much reviews as I hoped it'd get. I was totally stoked coz my first chapter got 29 reviews and I much enjoyed writing the second chapter and I had hoped that people would also like it and post reviews.

Anyway, on writing (in my comp), I'm still only up to chapter 28 and there's still a bit more to go. I can't write now coz I've got to study but after, I'll definitely finish it. I told myself not to post on ff.net until the story is actually done, but for some reason, I couldn't help myself this time. It's only my second story so far and the first story I wrote (Not What It Seems) garnered 87 reviews. That's not so bad, is it?

Memo to me: must clean up my tongue and stop cursing. I don't want to say bad words anymore.
