Phantom Love

Still enamored of all things The Phantom Of The Opera. The Phantom's totally hot and so sexy. Christine and Raoul are okay-looking... but the Phantom? *drooling* He is so hot! And his singing voice is so sexy and seductive LOL such a turn-on. I mean, if a guy like that was off singing to me at night? Woohoo! I totally wouldn't mind.

Gerard Butler, be mine!

Surprisingly, I've seen movies he's done but he's only stuck in my mind in this movie. Probably coz of his seductive portrayal of the Phantom LOL Do I sound totally in lust? Probably. Hahahaha I don't remember seeing him in the James Bond flick Tomorrow Never Dies but I know I liked him in Lara Croft 2. Like I said, Gerard Butler, be mine! There's no mention of his being married so I'm going to live my life as if he's single (as if that would matter! LOL)

Besides, I also love the movie because there's something about the beginning sequence, where the chandelier is being raised and the entire opera house does this bloody awesome flashback thing - goosebumps galore, man, goosebumps galore.

Anyway, couldn't resist... here are a few songs that stick to my head and raise goosebumps.

2nd track of the OST, Christine (Emmy Rossum) sings this and Raoul (Patrick Wilson - tepid cute character) finally recognizes her as his childhood sweetheart when he totally passed her by just earlier that day.

Think Of Me

CHRISTINE: Think of me, think of me fondly when we said goodbye. Remember me once in a while, please promise me you’ll try. When you find that once again uou long to take your heart back and be free, if you ever find a moment spare a thought for me. We never said our love was evergreen or as unchanging as the sea but if you can still remember, stop and think of me. Think of all the things we’ve shared and seen, don’t think about the way things might have been. Think of me, think of me waking, silent and resigned. Imagine me trying too hard to put you from my mind. Recall those days, look back on all those times, think of the things we’ll never do. There will never be a day when I won’t think of you.

RAOUL: Can it be, can it be Christine? Bravo! Long ago, it seems so long ago, how young and innocent we were. She may not remember me but I remember her

CHRISTINE: Flowers fade, the fruits of summer fade, they have their seasons, so do we. But please, promise me, that sometimes you will think of me

Track 4-5 of the CD, but it's a continuous song. The music of this one is very nice! Every time I hear it, I get the heebiejeebies :p

The Mirror (Angel Of Music)

PHANTOM: Insolent boy, this slave of passion basking in your glory. Ignorant fool, this brave young suitor sharing in my triumph

CHRISTINE: Angel, I hear you, speak, I listen, stay by my side, guide me. Angel, my soul was weak, forgive me, enter at last, master

PHANTOM: Flattering child, you shall know me, see why in shadow I hide. Look at your face in the mirror I am there inside *convulsive shiver* ooooh the way he sings this ooooh

CHRISTINE: Angel of Music, guide and guardian, grant to me your glory. Angel of Music, hide no longer, come to me, strange Angel

PHANTOM: I am your Angel of Music. Come to the Angel of Music. I am your Angel of Music. Come to the Angel of Music

The title song; is it any wonder I love this one?

The Phantom Of The Opera

CHRISTINE: In sleep he sang to me, in dreams he came. That voice which calls to me and speaks my name. And though I dream again for now I find the Phantom of the opera is there, inside my mind

PHANTOM: Sing once again with me our strange duet. My power over you grows stronger yet.
And though you turn from me to glance behind, the Phantom of the opera is there, inside your mind

CHRISTINE: Those who have seen your face draw back in fear. I am the mask you wear

PHANTOM: It’s me they hear

CHRISTINE & PHANTOM: My/Your spirit and my/your voice in one combined. The Phantom of the opera is there inside my/your mind

CHORUS: He’s there, the Phantom of the opera

CHRISTINE: He’s there, the Phantom of the opera [Vocalizing until the end]

PHANTOM: Sing, my Angel of Music. Sing, my Angel, sing for me, sing, sing, my Angel, sing for me

Track 6 - this is waaaay seductive. Whenever I listen to it, I can close my eyes and imagine being sung to by such a hot guy. Oooooh. And it's in my head - the image of the Phantom feeling up Christine. Hee.

Music Of The Night

PHANTOM:
Nighttime sharpens, heightens each sensation
Darkness stirs and wakes imagination
Silently the senses abandon their defenses
Slowly, gently, night unfurls its splendor
Grasp it, sense it, tremulous and tender
Turn your face away from the garish light of day
Turn your thoughts away from cold, unfeeling light
And listen to the music of the night.
Close your eyes and surrender to your darkest dreams
Turn your thoughts to the life you knew before
Close your eyes let your sweet song set you free
And you live as you’ve never lived before
Softly, deftly, music shall caress you
Hear it, feel it, secretly possess you
Open up your mind, let your fantasies unwind
In this darkness that you know you cannot fight
The darkness of the music of the night
Let your mind start a journey through a strange new world
Leave all thoughts of the life you knew before
Let your soul take you where you long to be
Only then can you belong to me
Floating, falling, sweet intoxication
Touch me, trust me, savor each sensation dude, I'd touch you forever *dreamy sigh*
Let the dream begin, let your darker side give in
To the power of the music that I write
The power of the music of the night
You alone can make my song take flight
Help me make the music of the night

Do I sound like I'm having orgasmic tendencies just listening to the music? LOL Well, slightly, I guess. It's just very seductive (I keep saying that, don't I?). The song, the story. An imaginary genius with a great face (well, 3/4 of it is messed up, but I can live with that) with a great body (hidden by great clothes - where does he get those clothes?) who comes to me (hey, it's my fantasy) at night and teaches me the beauty of music? Among other things? Hahahahaha Who wouldn't fall for that guy? I know I sure as hell would. Silly, silly Christine. Raoul is like hot water compared to the boiling lava that is the passion of the Phantom. Hahahaha I can't believe I'm talking like this! Is this me? Damn.

Here's the last track of the movie's OST (#14) - they play this with the credits since it sure as heck isn't in the broadway play (which I watched, btw, and is vastly inferior to the beauty of the movie). It makes me feel so weepy when I listen to this track. The voice of the person singing (I can't remember who) is so perfect. And the lyrics? Suits the Phantom to a T.

Learn To Be Lonely

Child of the wilderness born into emptiness
Learn to be lonely, learn to find your love in darkness
Who will be there for you?

Comfort and care for you
Learn to be lonely, learn to be your one companion
Never dreamed out in the world there are arms to hold you
You’ve always known your heart was on its’ own
So laugh in your loneliness, child of the wilderness
Learn to be lonely, learn how to love life that is lived alone
Learn to be lonely, life can be lived, life can be loved
Alone

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll go watch the DVD again to get seduced all over again.

Before I hit the books for Anatomy. Ugh.

Edit: I'm searching him out online now... for info and pix. How come I seem to be on this stage where all the movie guys I crush have little to no information about them on-line? Oliver James doesn't have anything new to his name. And why do I dig guys who weren't originally into acting? Oliver (I refuse to call him by his nickname "Oli") wanted to be a race car driver (sexy job!) while Gerry wanted to be a lawyer (nothing's sexier than a man with brains). The lack of info and sites is frustrating. Then again, can't complain much coz, in Gerry's case, even if there isn't enough info (like, say, status or past relationships), there are loads of pictures so I'm getting my high from those :p unlike Oliver who... doesn't have much, period.
