SPARHAWK: "Do you remember Sir Antas? (Sephrenia nods) I absolutely hated that man."
SEPHRENIA: "ANTAS? I thought he was your friend."
SPARHAWK: "I couldn't stand him. My hands started to shake every time he came near me."
Domes Of Fire, Book One of The Tamuli by David Eddings (sorry, am consumed by all things David Eddings nowadays)
During our morning class, I was talking with a friend - not about the lecture coz, really, that'll never happen
- about sometimes seeing someone and just being pissed at first sight. You may not even know the person and yet you hate him already. You might not have even shared a single conversation and yet the very sight of him/her makes your blood boil.
It's not a pretty thing, especially since it's somewhat like judging someone before you even know the person - and I try to avoid that as much as I can. And yet, sometimes, you really can't help but feel... very irritated by the existence of one or two people whom you don't even know. It doesn't make sense and it has no reason, it just kind of is. Thankfully, it hasn't happened often in my life... except that now, it has. There are two people in our class that just... rubs me wrong. One, for no reason whatsoever - heck, I don't even know the person's name! And the second... there are reasons, but mostly based on first impressions which I don't like using as a basis for liking or disliking a person. And yet, that's exactly what I'm kind of doing right now.
I think there really are people in our life that rub us the wrong way, whom we thoroughly dislike for no apparent reasons. Perhaps, our auras don't match?
