HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
I love when it's the last week of December, especially the last day. Every time I hear "next year", I find it amusing that 'next year' is the next day. I'm kind of mababaw like that LOL
I was thinking of doing, like, a year in review or something, but decided against it. I've lived it all once already, recapping it wouldn't really change anything, would it? Suffice it to say that I've lived, I've loved, I've been happy, I've been sad, I've suffered, and I've triumphed. I've surfed and I've anime-d (YES!) My year was complete and no regrets!
Onwards to the new year! I don't really like making so-called "New Year's Resolutions" because I always think that if one wants to change something in one's life, one doesn't have to wait for New Year to do so. But in light of the season's (is New Year's considered a 'season'?) moods, a few resolutions I'd like to continue, make, and keep.
1. Lose weight. Isn't it annoying how it takes about a year to lose what one has gained in five months? Shouldn't losing be the same length as gaining? It's very frustrating. Still, I'm glad that I'm losing weight. Still quite a long way from my goal (my old body), but at least, I made - and am making - progress.
2. Study hard. Like that's a resolution I even have to mention. It's pretty much something I HAVE to do, else I won't be able to graduate. And I want to. Graduate, I mean, as well as become a good doctor.
3. Save money. As well as trying to earn some money. If I can study and earn loads of money at the same time, that'd be great. I don't think it's possible, though, but it's a nice thought. Heh. Anyway, I aim to have a certain amount of money by the time I graduate (for both college-2005 and medicine-2008) as well as be worth a certain amount by a certain age. Hopefully. Hindi naman sa mukha akong pera, but I do want to be able to be financially stable AND financially
independent when I grow up. Also, I love to travel and try out so many new things and I can't do that when I'm scraping by, yes?
4. Surf more. I've tried it once so far and was supposed to try a second time but plans end up getting postponed. Now, it's set for the first weekend of January and I sure hope matutuloy.
5. Try, if I can, to dive. I shelled out moolah to study diving (well, my parents did, anyway) because I love diving but it's been 4 years since I last dove! I think I'd like to get back into the
practice. It's just so hard to find time and money (see? It all goes back to the money) to do so.
6. Improve myself. There's always room for improvement. 'Sides, if I wanna change the world, got to start with myself, right?
7. Lastly and most importantly, must try to be on time for, well, things. Mostly classes tho LOL
A very happy new year to everyone! May next year bring a wealth of experiences that will help us grow :) and hopefully, for the better :p

In other news, will again watch Lord Of The Rings trilogy movie. Been a while since I last saw it, around end of October or beginning of November. I'm going to make like a Christopher Lee and make sure to watch it at least once every year ('xept Chris Lee reads the book and I'm going to watch the movie...). It's going to be like David Eddings' or JK Rowling's book too, wherein I read them at least once every year too. Ah. Such is the power of classics! Of course, due to the fact that the DVD players in the house aren't in top working condition, I'll have to forego watching the original DVDs (theatrical and extended) and satisfy myself with the pirated
theatrical versions. The rest can wait next time. Especially since I'll be getting the special extended DVD version of Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King in January! Something that I am SO looking forward to!

In other, other news... the Asian Tsunami death toll is still climbing :( and this just in: remember Ozone years back? The disco that burned? Well, it happened to a disco in Buenos Aires (?) too :(
is it just me or is Christmas and New Year's definitely on the sad and solemn side this year?
