DOCTORS MAKE THE WORST PATIENTS

Doctors really do make the worst patients, don't they? :p The feeling that they know everything, that they know better than their attending physicians.

We went to visit Maws' mom in Medical City yesterday and she's an anesthesiologist (?) and Maws was saying that her mom is a bit difficult. On the way over, Mel and I were talking too, about how we never take medicines when we're sick until we absolutely have to. My mom is forever saying "doktor ka, dapat alam mo yan" and my reply is always, "kaya nga. alam ko nga" whenever she tells me to drink medicine or juice or vitamin C and I don't want to. I have absolute faith in my body is why. I believe that my immune system can handle it. And I think doctors have it in their heads that they're... well, that they know their own bodies, that they know what they are capable of and what they're not capable of. And they know, better than laymen, just what is happening to their body. Doctors think they know best. After all, they have diagnosed, healed and helped others so why can't they do the same to themselves? Siguro ganun nalang yon kaya doctor-patients are makulit and matigas ang ulo - coz we think we know better.

Just now, I have colds and mild cough and my parents are telling me to take my vitamin C and take cough medicine and I'm all, "Eh... maybe next time... we'll see." And stuff :p yes, I know, I can be hard-headed and stubborn. And that's why people love me so ;p hee!

Also, I had another dream last night with 'William' in it... except this time, I was engaged to be married to his brother. Ang weird! And this is also doubly weird since usually there are a few months in between my dreams of him, but now it's only a few days (check out blog dated dec 22). That happens sometimes, but rarely. Still, it's weird. Wish I knew why I often dream about him.
