Was listening to the radio (a rare occassion) on the way home and I heard the DJ mention the band, Mayonaise. How they won in the Red Horse or Red Bull (it was a red something...) gand competition or something and to promote their self-titled debut album. That's Monty's band! Wow. I'm just so proud of them, y'know? Pride by association :D and to think that they've been doing the band thing since high school, and they finally get a crack at mainstream! Sayang nga eh, I wasn't able to really listen to their song, but from what I heard, maganda siya. I couldn't place the singer though (back in HS, they wavered between Monty, Barbra/Barbara Aguirre, and Francinne Roque as lead singers) so it might be someone new. I wonder if it's still Bernard Paco as their guitarist? Now that was a really good guitar player!

I feel proud... And yet, at the same time... look at that. People I know have things happening to them. I mean, people are getting married, having kids, having sex lives... and now, my contemporaries are becoming famous. And I'm having none of that, and I'm still studying. Granted, Patty Laurel probably "broke" into showbiz earlier than anybody else, but then... I don't think she remembers me from Zobel so it's not like I can say I've got a connection with her. It reminded me, though, of our yearbook, when we voted for things like "Most Likely To Make The News" and stuff. I know Patty and Monty were in it, although I forgot the categories, but Mike Yuseco was also in it, something about being famous. Probably 'cause he did a few acting stints in HS. But now, he's laying low. In fact, I don't know what he's doing.

Anyway... it's nice to know that people I know who I knew when are doing great and following their dreams. Things are happening now. I just hope it'll last. And that, y'know, it won't really change them for the worse.
