They say that if you're a medical student, you wouldn't go anywhere without at least one book and/or a handful of your notes. And that's what I did. There was a sale in SM Bicutan so my mom, brother, sis-in-law, and myself went off because we wanted some things and a sale is always a nice place to get them. I bought my anatomy notes (printouts of our powerpoint lectures) and since I forgot to bring a clipboard so I inteded to go to National first, pick up a nice clipboard for my home use, as well as some refill inks for my sign pens. My mom wondered why I was bringing my notes since I would most likely not be able to read. "Iikot ka, pano ka magbabasa?" she said and I replied, "You'd be surprised at what I've learned in med school." And I was right. I was able to finish the blood lecture and finished 1/4 of the hemopoiesis amidst the crowded SM.
Another thing, I really *hate* shopping when it's soooo crowded. A person can't breathe. Plus, I can't even enjoy browsing for items because everyones all pressed up and there are other people looking at the items you're looking at. Kaya hindi talaga ako puede sa ukay-ukay na dagsakan ng tao (think Baclaran or Divisoria during Christmas - ugh, killer). I'd rather pay a coupla bucks more than walk amidst a throng of people. Call me sosy, but really, I don't see the joy in shopping when you're elbowing your way throughout the mall and you can't walk two steps without bumping into someone. Dammit, I need my personal space and they're invading it!
It's been quite some time since I was last in a mall and I was slightly surprised that they were already playing Christmas songs. Oo nga naman, September na, 3 months to go before Christmas. But still... I guess the passing of the times hasn't really made itself known to me. I mean, when September hits, all I can pretty much think of is: malapit na sem break! Haha And when December hits, I think: gano katagal kaya christmas break namin? My world seems to revolve not around occasions, but vacations. LOL
Now watching: "Captain EO" dvd
--man, I've missed this! I totally can't remember the story but I remember we watched it and Michael Jackson was in it. Say what you will about MJ, but he's totally talented. I'm slightly embarassed to admit that I'm a fan but a fan I am. :) Brings back childhood memories of Disneyland. Aaaw...
