THINGS I LEARN IN BIOCHEMISTRY

1. Second Law Of Thermodynamics: Law Of Entropy
all processes (chemical or biology) tend to progress towards a situation of maximum disorder, aka entropy

Yes, this is the reason why as we go on with our lives, confusion kicks in. And stays. This is the reason why life gets more and more complicated.

Friends just aren’t friends anymore. They’re not just the people who you share the contents of your lunchbox with, not just the people who you swap letters or stationeries, not just the people you spend the whole night talking with about a boy whom you like. When you get older, friends are the ones who you have to fight with, they’re the ones who hold your hands when you break up with someone… yet likewise, they can be the friends who are also in love with your boyfriend and sometimes you have to choose. They can be the friends who you share apartment space with but realize you can’t be both friends and roommates and you both don’t get that.

When you were young, crushes were just cute guys you looked at from afar. They’re the guys who make your stomach all fluttery and get you tongue-tied when you’re face to face and trying, hard, to talk to, and failing miserably. As entropy increases, "crushes" are now the guys who feed you all the lines you’ll believe in until they find someone new and then feed her the lines. They’re the guys you try and get close to and then when you do, they turn out to be totally different from the guy you had in your mind. Would’ve been better to stick to the man in your head, eh?

When your young, love is… easy. It was all romance and sweetness and affection. Everything was seen under rose-colored glasses and then entropy kicks in… then increases… and my gosh, you don’t even have clear-glass windows covering your view!

When you’re a kid, your biggest problem is, gosh, what TV show are you going to watch at 6pm, He-Man or Transformers? Now, it’s, gosh, what major will I take? And when you fail, dude, what major will I be able to pass?

And when you were a kid, everything and anything is possible. You could… you could be an actor, you could be the very first youngest millionaire, you could climb Mount Everest and it’d be okay. But, again, entropy kicks in… and gosh, those dreams? They suddenly seem unreachable and you have to tone them down a bit to make them reachable.

2. Concept of Free Energy
energy available for work, energy that a cell uses

Yes, people, only free energy is the one that’s available. If you’ve got "taken" written on, then get the hell outta there! Because if it’s not available, you can’t use it. And if you’re taken, then dammit!, stay taken and lay off searching for other free energies!

3. Coupled Reactions
product of first reaction must be the substrate for the second reaction

This, I think explains itself. Everything happens for a reason and when stuff happens, it’s usually the cause of other things. Yknow, how when you become friends with someone, it’s not just because of one thing. Same goes with love. It’s like this chain reaction of events, where one cannot happen without the other.

Now, if the Nobel Prize committee want to contact me, they can do so via my cellphone and maybe dorm and/or house.
